Science Says Silence Is Much More Important To Our Brains Than We Think
THIS WAY TO WELLNESS
The Himeville Nature reserve is full of orchids, new born animals and other pretty things. Just one of a few reasons why a trot around the village is good for you…..
Walking for just 15 minutes every day can lower the risk of early death by 22%.
People who walk daily have 25% fewer colds.
Taking a 20 minute power walk every day for six weeks had effects comparable to a course of psychotherapy.
BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) proteins, which are released during walking, repair memory neurons in your brain and act as a ‘reset button’.

Silent Killer: Understanding Circulatory Diseases and Blood Clots .

By Angel Little of Angels Apothecary

Circulatory diseases claim 18 million lives worldwide every year, making them the leading cause of mortality globally. 1 in 4 deaths is attributed to hypertension, and this alarming number is rapidly on the rise.

The Hidden Danger of Hypertension

Prolonged high blood pressure can silently damage blood vessels and the heart, increasing the risk of stroke, heart attack, or kidney damage. Hypertension is a ticking time bomb that can have devastating consequences if left unmanaged.

Blood clots are lifesavers when formed in response to injury, sealing off blood leakage and preventing excessive bleeding. However, when they form unnecessarily, they can be deadly, leading to heart attacks and/or strokes.

Blood clots form when platelets aggregate to repair damaged blood vessels. The clotting process involves:

1. Platelet activation and aggregation
2. Chemical signals attracting more platelets and clotting factors
3. Fibrin strands forming a net to trap platelets
4. Regulation by proteins to prevent excessive clotting.

However, blood clots can also form due to compromised blood flow, viscosity, or poor circulation, as seen in Deep Vein Thrombosis and Arterial Fibrillation.
Chemical exposure, poor nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to plaque buildup and fatty deposits in arteries and veins, leading to cardiovascular complications.

To combat circulatory diseases, it's crucial to: Monitor and manage hypertension, Maintain a balanced diet, Engage in regular physical activity, Supplement according to what your body requires and Avoid harmful chemicals and substances

It is important to understand the complex relationship between blood clots and circulatory diseases, in order to take proactive steps to protect our heart health.
